TIPS using cooking ingredients to clean
If your fingertips are stained from preparing vegetables
such as beets, dip them in strong tea for a few minutes then wash with soap.
If you have burned food in a pot, put ¼ cup automatic
dishwashing soap in the pot, fill with water.
Boil for 15 min. Cool. Everything will lift out of the pot.
CLUB SODA:
Use club soda to remove coffee stains from clothing or
upholstery.
Use old club soda to water houseplants. It adds vigor and gives them nice color.
Dip a new bristle broom in hot salt water. This will toughen the bristles and make it
last longer
COOKING TRICKS:
Tea is a tenderizer.
Cook tough cuts of meat in strong tea instead of water.
When melting chocolate, butter the inside of the
saucepan. All the chocolate can then be
scrapped out easily.
A pinch of salt added to very sour fruits while cooking will
greatly reduce the amount of sugar needed to sweeten them.
If you want a crisp brown crust on your roast or broiled
chicken, rub mayonnaise on top of them for the last hour of cooking.
Add a little milk to water in which your cauliflower is
cooking. This will keep its color very
white.
Instead of boiling beets, bake them like potatoes. They will have a lovely flavor.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Our days are
identical suitcases; all the same size, but some people pack more into them
than others.
It's too bad two
weeks on a vacation does not last as long as two weeks on a diet.
Probably nothing in
the world arouses more false hopes than the first four hours of a diet!
Your mind is yours;
you can starve it or feed it!
Opportunity knocks
only once, but temptation leans on the doorbell!
If you are kicking up
a storm, don't expect clear sailing!
It's easier to get
ulcers from what's eating you, than from what you eat!
The way people find
fault with others, you'd think there was a reward!
It isn't life that
matters, but the courage we bring to it!
